Holy crap, I’m clearly on summer mode and my posts have been ridiculously infrequent!  So a couple quick updates for you…

1.  I froze my homegrown veggies the other day so can officially (even though I already had) cross that off my list.

Ready for blanching…

Simultaneous blanching and boiling.

My fantastic Food Saver for perfect freezing technique.

Done and DONE.

2.  Remember Jersey???  She’s been adopted!  We took her to MA on Saturday, July 9th to meet a family from NH that found her Facebook posting through John’s cousin… awesome rescue networking!  They took her home as a foster to adopt and were given a week to decide and wouldn’t you know, they called on the 13th and said, she’s taken!  And it just happened to be John’s birthday – what a great present!  Here are a few pics of her last moments with us and some great shots of her new family!

Such goons… trying to get a pic of the three of them was a challenge!

One last foster family photo before she headed off to her fur-ever home!

Getting some loving from her new sister, Angel.

Perfection… I could not be happier with her new home.

3.  Our epic golf weekend has been postponed/cancelled for this weekend.  My cousin is coming home from that 109 degree, backpack wearing country and won’t be back in time for the weekend we had planned BUT I’m just happy that he’s home!  So, after what promises to be a fantastic wedding Friday night, John and I are going to spend some much needed time together (it’s been a really busy summer for us) and we might just go and play golf by ourselves!  There’s something really romantic about him teaching me anyways…

4.  I’ve broken down and decided to medicate Brody for his anxiety and OCD.  That’s right, the equivalent of doggy Ritalin just came home with me in a bottle so beautiful that I might make a necklace out of it.  Or maybe it just seems so gorgeous because it contains a bit of my sanity returned.  I’ll keep you posted.

5.  This post took me 3 days to write.  And it’s not even good.
