It’s my 29th birthday. A day that has lived in infamy since I was a kid and my mom and all her girlfriends joked that they were 29. Every. Birthday. And now it’s mine… I’m not gonna lie – I think 29 is going to be harder than 30. At least at 30 you get a fabulous party. Right? Right???
I’ve always been dependent on lists to get things done and I claim to live life to its fullest so, inspired by some friends of mine, I have decided to start my own “30 Before 30″ list. Thirty things. One year. Starting today.
The list is in no particular order (but you better believe I’m going to buy myself something new and shiny before I volunteer to have a giant needle stuck in my arm to give blood again) but I really do plan on accomplishing all of them. Even the no shoes for a year thing (stop laughing).
First off the list? #9 – Start a blog and document my list of 30 things (and life within and after). Now, since it is indeed my first day, I don’t promise anything flashy for a while (I see some wonderful excuses to visit my bloggy friend and her adorable little boy often to learn more about making this blog great). In the future, I’ll figure out how to scratch things off the list all technical-like and hopefully link to the post I write about the accomplishment.
So far, 29 hasn’t been too bad (so what if I’m barely 12 hours into it?) and now it’s off to scratch #6 off this list and do my best to keep with #26 while I’m out. And I guess I’ll have to grab a photo somewhere along the way.
Happy Birthday to me!
*** The list is always going to be visible (and one day updated and fancy) on the right side of the blog.

YAY BDAY girl!

# 30 you should do with you husband, but if he doesn’t want to, i will
Run away from #21 (i am talking to myself)
great way to celebrate life Darcie! go girl.
You can do as many as you want with me! And definitely on the 5k – I’m going to need someone to keep me motivated!
Happy birthday Miss! Fabulous start to your list!
I love this list! We are so much alike in the way we list things out and set goals and all. Very Capricorn like:) We were also both raised snow bunnies but Ocean/Island girls at heart!
GO GIRL !!!
Some encouragement for you….I just recently ran a 5K with a friend and since then I’ve been running on the beach twice a week and lovin every minute of it. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be.
Some advice…I recently paintballed and got tons of bruises…wear very padded clothing
I am totally with you on the wanting to becoming CPR certified and also on wanting to learn how to sail. And it’s funny that you mentioned the quilt with your old t-shirts because last week, I went through my closet to eliminate items that I haven’t worn in a while and I made a pile of my favorite t’s and asked Ben if I could get a quilting machine so I could do the same thing. Some of the shirts are just too memorable..but also tiny baby tee’s that don’t fit anymore!!!
Anyhow…I wish you luck on your list and knowing you, I have a strong feeling you will accomplish 100%
#24 ain’t gonna be easy, but good luck, and I hope to be the judge of that….
Ohhh as the bloggy friend I totally agree on the more visits thing
My birthday is in two weeks and you inspired me to start my own! Thanks and good luck with your list!
Yay! I would love to hear what’s on your list! Good luck!
I just stumbled upon your blog while looking for exercise cartoons – I’m so impressed you did ALL those things on your list! Well done – it must be an amazing feeling!
